FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A series of explosions in Central Fresno led to a house fire and some shaken neighbors. It happened around 5:30 p.m. at the corner of Princeton and Blackstone.

Neighbors said a man was doing car repair work in a garage. They then felt the ground shake before the garage and house went up in flames. Firefighters said they fought the fire defensively at first because of downed power lines and additional explosions that went off after they arrived on scene.

"If there's a fire in any type of garage there's lots of pressurized vessels and explosions are relatively common but we just wanna take a little bit of extra precaution," said Brian Price, Battalion Chief, Fresno Fire Department.

Firefighters said they are still investigating the cause.

Four adults and a child were living inside and are now looking for a place to stay. No one was injured, but the estimated damage is about $45,000.
