Man arrested for attacking ex with hammer in Northwest Fresno, police say
Police say the woman was in her car when her ex-boyfriend came up, grabbed her by the hair, and pulled her out.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man accused of assault with a deadly weapon is now in jail Saturday after carjacking a woman in northwest Fresno.

Police say the woman was in her car when a man came up, grabbed her by the hair, and pulled her out.

He then got in and took off.

Police were able to use the ping from her cell phone that was left in the car to track him down.

He was taken into custody where officer later found out he was wanted for an assault that happened just before the carjacking.

Police say he had attacked his ex-girlfriend and her daughter with a hammer.
