Man leads police in high-speed chase through downtown Fresno
Officers tried to pull 43-year-old Earnest Dean over for several domestic violence crimes, but he took off.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- One person is in custody after leading police on a high-speed chase through downtown Fresno.

Officers were looking for 43-year-old Earnest Dean when they came across him driving near Mariposa and Madison Avenues. Dean was wanted for several domestic violence crimes he committed last month.

Officers tried to pull him over, but he took off.

During the chase, Dean hit another car before crashing into a light pole near Stanislaus and A street. Dean tried running away but was eventually taken into custody.

He now faces numerous charges including auto theft, spousal battery and kidnapping. The woman in the car that dean hit was not injured.
