FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Three Valley residents were booked into jail after crashing the car police say they stole.

Fresno police spotted a stolen PT Cruiser at Willow and Shepherd avenues Saturday night and tried to stop it, but the driver took off. The officers decided not to initiate a high-speed chase.

A little while later, a car crash was reported at Willow and Bullard avenues. The stolen PT Cruiser had hit a Toyota Prius and rolled over.

One person inside the PT Cruiser was injured and stayed at the scene. Three others who were also inside took off. Police quickly called in air support to locate the other suspects.

"Any time you utilize this tool, it tends to get suspects to kind of stop from running, and that allowed us during our search to find these two," said Fresno Police Officer Greg Noll.

Three of the four suspects were arrested. The driver of the Prius was able to walk away from the crash.
