FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Reedley student has died after an accident on the Reedley College campus Tuesday.
The accident happened in the dark, when some students drove down a small road along the north side of the Reedley College campus. Investigators said the pickup truck wasn't speeding and the driver wasn't being reckless, but an accident happened anyway.
Reedley College President Sandra Caldwell said, "On behalf of Reedley College and State Center Community College District, I send my sincerest condolences to the family and friends of our student. My thoughts and prayers, and those of the entire Reedley College community, are with them. I am deeply saddened by what has occurred."
The student went to Reedley Middle College High School, which is located on the Reedley College campus. Reedley College officials are working closely with Kings Canyon Unified School District officials following the accident.
Counseling from both State Center Community College District and Kings Canyon Unified School District are available on the Reedley College campus to support students and employees.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating this accident.
