Huge donation of socks delivered to Fresno's Poverello House

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Just in time for the winter months, Save Mart Supermarkets delivered warm gifts Tuesday morning to a shelter which serves thousands of Fresno's homeless.

The Poverello House received 2,000 six-packs of socks and officials sais the donation is very much appreciated. Especially now that temperatures are expected to drop with an incoming storm. "Sometimes they come to our campus with no socks or shoes. With the cold coming on socks are definitely needed to keep them warm," said Stephanie Ortiz, Poverello House.

Save Mart Supermarkets donated 60,000 pairs of socks to several non-profit organizations throughout California this week.

The Poverello House accepts clothing donations every day. They're getting ready for their 'warming kit' campaign where they'll be giving homeless people a package of socks, gloves, scarves, and beanies to help keep them warm through winter.
