Valley residents put Thanksgiving on hold to shop
Black Thursday shoppers hunted for deals this Thanksgiving.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Black Thursday shoppers hunted for deals this Thanksgiving. The doorbuster deals had thousands of holiday shoppers lined up as early as Wednesday morning at some River Park shops.

For some bargain hunters, a good sale is better than pumpkin pie.

"Yes we are those crazy people that come out every year, but we come with the attitude that if we get great deals, great; if not, we had a good time," said Candi Preheim.

She and her daughter drove all the way out from Reedley for Target's Black Thursday. And like a lot of the shoppers there, they came for the Apple products that typically only get priced lower during the Black Thursday and Friday rush.

But at Best Buy, the TVs are all the rage.

"I know a lot of people don't like to come just because the rush. I'm sure it's going to take forever to check out, but no I don't know. I don't think it's too bad right now," said Jeanete Ocampo.

Many of the major doorbusters, like a flat screen TV marked down $500 from the original price, were gone minutes after the doors opened. But one lucky shopper got a prize even better than the best deal in the store. Kim Cooper got her TV paid for in full by 51Fifty -- an Atwater-based energy drink company.

"I can't even contain myself. I thought I was going to be spending a lot of money and yet I got it for free. This never happens to me. I never win anything," said Cooper.

Because without a little crazy, it just wouldn't feel like the holidays.
