FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who carjacked a woman Wednesday and was later involved in a hit-and-run crash.

The carjacking happened this morning outside a senior boarding house on Robinwood Lane, in the area of Barstow and Wilson Avenues, a county island in north Fresno.

A short time later, the call came in about a hit-and-run near Fresno City College. The victim there is a student. He says he was in his car waiting to go to class when the suspect in the stolen van hit his car.

When the carjacker took off the student gave chase. He says he eventually pulled over and called police when the suspect started picking up speed and driving erratically.

"He was driving like crazy," victim Rami Abed said. "And I was behind him and was looking for any police or cops because we were driving so fast. I was behind him getting information to give to the cops."

The sheriff's department says neither victim was seriously hurt. The suspect is still on the loose.
