FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police are investigating a shooting in Southwest Fresno that left one man dead and another injured.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. Sunday near Trinity and Amador streets. Fresno police detectives say an altercation during a birthday party at the American Legion Post led to the shooting.

Both victims were transported to Community Regional Medical Center. One of the victims, who was identified as a 47-year-old man, was later pronounced dead. The other victim, a man in his 40s, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say the suspect ran away from the area following the shooting, and no arrests have been made.
