FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two families will need a new place to live after their apartments caught fire in Central Fresno.
The blaze broke out around 3 a.m. Thursday at an apartment complex near Shields and West. Investigators say it started when someone put something to close to a hot water heater inside one of the units. Crews say the flames immediately moved into the attic, where they were contained minutes later.
Two-units have major damage and two others have some slight damage.
