Fig Garden attempted burglary suspect arrested

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno County Sheriff's Office says a suspect has been arrested in a recent burglary attempt in the Fig Garden area.

Authorities say Paul Rodriguez, 35, of Clovis kicked down the door of a home near Ashlan and Palm avenues last Thursday while the homeowner was home. The homeowner chased Rodriguez out of his house with a gun, firing shots at the suspect and his car -- a black Dodge Charger.

Evidence was recovered at the scene that tied Rodriguez to the attempted burglary. Detectives say they later discovered Rodriguez was responsible for a commercial burglary in the town of Biola.
